Assessment Deadline

Hi Diploma peeps!

Hope you all had a good holiday and feel rested ready for the new unit. Obviously with the closure due to snow the deadline will have to be changed. You must bring all your work in for Monday and those who have not yet edited will be able to work on this after school next week.

Assessment

Don't forget I want you're work in on Monday so that I can check progress. Please make sure that the work is in order and you need to include evidence of any filming. If you are using you're blog make sure that I have the correct address. Remember the work should be organised and could be viewed and understood by an external examiner.

Halloween Pumpkin Carving with the Kearns'

As you can see lots of hard work has been put into carving our pumpkins this year. We even made some rather splendid soup from the little one which was edible as well as being a diddy one for the 'troll'.

The top pumpkin is Nuala's, the middle one is Georgie's and the last one is Mikki's.

Dazzle Exhibition Manchester

Another interesting exhibition which would be well worth a visit if you are in Manchester. It also gives you an excuse to go into the Town Hall and see the architecture from the inside. A visit to the exhibition could be combined with a trip to the Christmas market which is held infront of the Town Hall.

Contemporary Crafts Fair

Just to let you know about a very interesting craft show which will be on in Manchester this week. I checked out their website and if you like contemporary designed items this is the place for you. It will cost you £5/£4 (concessions) to get in but will be well worth the expense. You can speak to the makers and research a range of designer maker jobs. Our Day Out

I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to say that Wednesday's trip to Crosby/Formby was fun - but it certainly was! I was very impressed by your self directed approach and how you threw yourselves into filming with such gusto. It was fabulous to see black caped figures running around the beach and in amongst the sand dunes. A new species of crow could also be logged on any twitchers chart.
You need to use the trip to inform your Scene unit and review the art work on your blog/sketch book.
Well done diploma peeps. Can't wait to see the footage.
